How to Try the Microsoft Copilot Chatbot on Telegram
Microsoft Copilot Chatbot on Telegram--
Telegram users no longer need to switch between apps to interact with AI chatbots. This is because Microsoft’s AI Copilot bot is now officially available on the messaging platform.
Similar to the Copilot in Microsoft Edge browser, Microsoft states that their bot uses everyday language to respond to a variety of topics, including searching for information, travel tips, sports updates, and movie recommendations.
However, unlike the browser version, the Telegram Copilot bot cannot generate images or offer users the option to switch between three usage modes: More Creative, More Balanced, and More Precise.
The Copilot bot is currently available on various platforms that support Telegram, including desktop devices like Windows, macOS, and Linux, mobile devices like iOS and Android, as well as the web version of Telegram.
The Copilot bot is only accessible in certain regions, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and parts of Asia. Users outside these regions cannot yet use Copilot on Telegram.
Telegram users can find the Copilot bot by searching for the username @CopilotOfficialBot or by visiting Microsoft’s official page and clicking “Try Now” on the Copilot for Telegram section.
To activate the Copilot bot, users will be required to agree to the terms of use and privacy statement. Once they agree, they must verify their phone number.
Microsoft asserts that this verification is for security reasons and that the phone number will not be used for any other purpose, according to KompasTekno's report from WindowsLatest on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
“To ensure a secure experience, we need a one-time brief verification of your phone number linked to your Telegram account. We do not store your number,” Microsoft explains in the message that appears when starting the Copilot bot on Telegram.
For users who are still confused about how to use the Copilot bot, Microsoft’s official website provides tips and guides to maximize its use on Telegram, along with a dedicated FAQ page that explains how the bot works and its features.
The Copilot bot is part of Microsoft’s new project, "copilot-for-social," which aims to bring generative AI to social applications like WhatsApp and Telegram. However, there is no official information from Microsoft yet about whether WhatsApp will also receive the Copilot bot.
