Top 5 Smartphones with Highest Radiation Levels: Xiaomi Leads the List
Xiaomi Mi A1--
Like most electronic devices, smartphones also carry the risk of radiation.
Radiation is the energy emitted from matter (atoms) in the form of particles or waves, such as electromagnetic waves. The level of radiation varies among smartphones.
Stocklytics, an analytical market platform, compiled a list of smartphones with high radiation levels in 2024.
At least five smartphones have high radiation levels. Xiaomi dominates the list with the following devices:
5 smartphones with high radiation levels
- Xiaomi Mi A1
- Xiaomi Mi A1 LTE Dual SIM
- Xiaomi Mi Max 3
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G
- Samsung Galaxy A23 5G
The list is based on the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) values of each device.
SAR is a scientific measurement method that calculates the rate at which a person's body absorbs energy from radiation sources such as smartphones. SAR is measured in watts per kilogram (W/kg).
According to Stocklytics data, both the 4G and 5G versions of Xiaomi Mi A1 have a radiation level of 1.75 W/kg, which can be absorbed by the ear. This value is higher than other models on the list.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 and Mi Mix 3 5G also have high SAR values that can be absorbed by the ear, with 1.58 W/kg and 1.56 W/kg, respectively.
Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy A23 5G ranks at the bottom with an ear SAR value of 1.49 W/kg.
Stocklytics also provides SAR values for the body absorption of each phone user.
