Latest Medal Standings Update for the Paris 2024 Olympics

As of Tuesday morning, August 6, 2024, China continues to lead the medal standings at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Meanwhile, Indonesia remains in 61st place.

On the 11th day of the Olympics, two Indonesian athletes are set to compete in the sport climbing events, aiming to increase Indonesia's medal tally.

China reclaimed the top spot in the medal standings after briefly being overtaken by the United States. The Chinese team currently holds 21 gold, 18 silver, and 14 bronze medals. On the 10th day of the competition, from Monday, August 5, to early Tuesday, August 6, China secured two additional gold medals.

One of these gold medals came from Li Yuehong in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol event in shooting. This marks Li's first Olympic gold, after previously winning bronze in Tokyo 2020 (2021) and Rio 2016.

The second gold medal was won by Zou Jingyuan in the men's parallel bars event in artistic gymnastics. Zou successfully defended the gold medal he won in the same event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The United States follows closely behind China with 20 gold, 30 silver, and 28 bronze medals. Australia is in third place with 13 gold, 11 silver, and 8 bronze medals.

On the 10th day of competition, both the U.S. and Australia added one gold medal each. The U.S. won gold through Valarie Allman in the women's discus throw event, while Australia secured a gold medal in women's kayak cross in canoe slalom, thanks to Noemie Fox's performance.
